This portal was created as a digital database of Italian literary and filmic works that address the issues of the climate crisis and ecological issues.

Through the exploration of the new narrative form of climate fiction, the portal invites us to observe how literature and cinema narrate our relationship with planet Earth. But what is climate fiction? It is a recent narrative form that places the climate crisis and its consequences on the level of human relations, social and cultural structure, environmental justice and the relationship with the non-human and the environment at the center of the narration. Climate fiction therefore invites the reader to reflect on issues that are significant for our time.

Inside the portal it is possible to consult:

• A searchable database of Italian narrative works (novels, short stories, films, graphic novels) that deal with environmental and climate issues;
• In-depth spaces dedicated to ecocritical dissemination and tools for research and education;
• Resources designed to support schools, universities and active citizenship.

The project was born with the intent to support research and training, promoting the development of an ecological conscience through the imaginative power of storytelling. In a historical moment in which the environment is at the center of global challenges, we believe that stories can become precious tools to understand, educate and transform the present.
