In the near future, humanity will face a global water crisis, triggering a clandestine auction to privatise Antarctica. Against the backdrop of a collapsing capitalist system, the stories of various characters intertwine in a world where social inequality is extreme, democracy has disappeared and slavery has been legalised once more. A psychic telecommunications system controls minds while the masses live in underground cities such as Uny (Underground New York). Science is privatised and schools are abolished. Society is dominated by corruption, collective mental mergers and armoured enclaves for the ultra-rich. In the finale, some protagonists flee to World B, a parallel universe of pure energy, while others rise up against occult powers. Exceptional events decimate the population. Human history begins again, but the seeds of selfishness remain. This is a dystopian fresco of the end of the world as we know it — and its eternal return.
